PNG Namba Wan Trophy began on 23 August 1987, when our founder, Mr. Frankie Gui, first arrived in Papua New Guinea. From humble beginnings and with the support of local friendships, hard work, and the trust of Papua New Guineans, the very first Trophy Haus store was born.

What started as a single retail outlet quickly grew into a stable and trusted business, built on dedication and service. Over time, the company diversified into fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), distribution, property, and other sectors, laying the foundation for a true multi-industry group.

Today, with the next generation at the helm, PNG Namba Wan Trophy continues to expand and innovate, carrying forward the same pioneering spirit that has guided us for more than 35 years.

Milestones & Achievements

Three Decades of Progress and Impact

Our journey has been one of steady growth, diversification, and innovation. Each milestone reflects our commitment to serving Papua New Guinea with quality, variety, and trust.

  • 1989 – NWTL was founded with the opening of Trophy Haus, specialising in trophies and engraving.
  • 1996 – Trophy Haus expands into a sports and apparel retailer, introducing global brands to PNG.
  • 2000s – The Group diversifies with the launch of Fone Haus (telecommunications), Kwik Distribution (logistics), and Force Security Services (professional security).
  • 2010s – Expansion continues with South Pacific Building Solutions (SPBS), Victory No.8 Puma service stations, Namba Wan Bake Haus, and The Chicken Shop.
  • 2020s – Embracing technology and innovation, NWTL launches its own Internet Service Provider, Fone Fix mobile repair centres, and the Mintt smartphone brand.
  • Today – NWTL proudly operates 10 subsidiaries, employs more than 1,500 people, and has invested over K10 million in community programs across education, health, sanitation, and sports.

We invest in our people through training and leadership programs, including four management workshops each year, to ensure our leaders are always learning, growing, and prepared to guide their teams into the future.

Our journey is also deeply connected to the communities we serve. Through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee, we have invested over K10 million in programs that make a real difference, from providing medical supplies and clean water to renovating classrooms, supporting local sporting teams, and improving sanitation.

We believe that business success is measured not only in growth but also in the positive change we create for our people, our customers, and our communities.

When was NWTL founded?
